Job Description
Federal Properties Limited is looking for a skilled Painter cum Carpenter to join its Facility Management team in Al Reem Island, Abu Dhabi. This role combines hands-on painting and carpentry work with general building maintenance across residential and commercial properties, making it well suited to a versatile tradesperson who takes pride in quality finishing.
The successful candidate will handle everything from surface preparation and painting to the repair, installation and upkeep of wooden fixtures such as doors, frames, cabinets, shelves and partitions. Alongside these core duties, the role also involves minor plaster and wall repairs, preventive maintenance, and close coordination with plumbers, electricians and other members of the Facility Management team to ensure properties are well maintained and issues are resolved promptly.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with practical, on-the-job experience in both painting and carpentry, ideally gained within residential or commercial buildings. Familiarity with Facility Management or building maintenance environments is a strong advantage, as the role requires responding to maintenance requests and working as part of a broader technical team.
- Confident performing surface preparation, priming, and interior/exterior painting
- Skilled in carpentry tasks such as measuring, cutting, assembling and installing wooden materials
- Comfortable carrying out minor civil and finishing repairs, including wall and plaster patching
- Able to work independently while coordinating effectively with the wider maintenance team
- Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to delivering quality workmanship
Immediate joiners are preferred, and candidates with UAE experience will have an added advantage.

Responsibilities
Perform painting and carpentry works in residential and commercial buildings.
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, puttying, and priming before painting.
Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, frames, and wooden surfaces.
Carry out touch-up and repainting works as required.
Repair, maintain, and install wooden doors, frames, cabinets, shelves, partitions, and furniture.
Perform carpentry works including measuring, cutting, assembling, and fitting wooden materials.
Repair damaged or loose doors, hinges, locks, cabinets, and other wooden fixtures.
Carry out minor wall, ceiling, plaster, and finishing repairs.
Inspect areas and identify painting, carpentry, and general maintenance requirements.
Attend to maintenance requests and complaints within the assigned properties.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as required.
Coordinate with plumbers, electricians, technicians, and other members of the Facility Management team.
Ensure completed work meets the required quality and finishing standards.
Maintain and properly use painting and carpentry tools and equipment.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe after completing the job.
Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies.
Report any major defects, material requirements, or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
Perform other related duties assigned by the Supervisor/Facility Manager.
Requirements
Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience as a Painter Cum Carpenter.
Previous experience in residential and commercial buildings is required.
Experience in Facility Management (FM) or building maintenance is highly preferred.
Strong practical skills in painting, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
Skilled in surface preparation, sanding, puttying, priming, and painting.
Knowledge of interior and exterior painting and different types of paints and finishes.
Skilled in repairing and installing wooden doors, door frames, cabinets, shelves, partitions, and furniture.
Ability to perform minor civil and finishing works, including wall patching and plaster repairs.
Able to accurately measure, cut, assemble, and install wooden materials.
Good knowledge of carpentry and painting tools and equipment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver good-quality finishing.
Able to identify and troubleshoot painting, carpentry, and building maintenance issues.
Good time management and ability to complete assigned tasks within deadlines.
Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with the FM/maintenance team.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Must follow health and safety procedures at all times.
UAE experience is an advantage.
