Job Description
Baristas’ Corner – Specialty Coffee is looking for an engaging and courteous Barista who is passionate about food and beverage preparation and enjoys sharing that passion with customers. In this role, you will welcome guests, take orders and payments, and prepare and serve coffee, tea and food items to a consistently high standard.
Beyond preparing beverages and food, you will play an important part in keeping the workspace and dining area clean, well-stocked and inviting. You will also help update displays and signage, manage inventory, and continually build your knowledge of brewing methods, beverage blends and presentation techniques to support the café’s reputation for quality.
This position suits someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service at every interaction.

Strong communication skills, a polite and approachable manner, and the physical stamina to stand, walk and move for extended periods are important for succeeding in this role. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays, is also expected.

Responsibilities
Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments.
Preparing foods, such as sandwiches or baked goods, and grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, and serving items to customers.
Packaging food and beverages for sale.
Selling coffee and tea blends and brewing equipment, highlighting the differences between items, and educating customers about brewing methods.
Cleaning and restocking work and dining areas, emptying trash and sanitizing equipment and utensils.
Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality.
Updating signage and displays to attract customers.
Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter.
Working as part of a fun, high-energy team.
Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service preferred.
Training and willingness to continue learning about food and beverage preparation.
Exceptional listening and communication skills.
Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.
Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
A polite, engaging personality.
Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
Willingness to work as part of a high-energy, efficient team in a fast-paced environment.
