Morton’s The Steakhouse, part of the bistro group, is looking for a welcoming and attentive Hostess to join a busy restaurant team. As the first point of contact for guests, you will play a key role in setting the tone for their dining experience, from a warm greeting at the door to ensuring they are comfortably seated and well looked after throughout their visit.
This role suits someone who enjoys interacting with people, stays composed during busy service periods, and takes pride in delivering genuinely great hospitality. You will be responsible for managing guest flow, coordinating seating arrangements, and supporting the wider front-of-house team whenever needed.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is personable, organised and thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment. You should be confident handling multiple guest requests at once while maintaining a friendly, professional manner. A genuine interest in customer service, along with the physical stamina to remain on your feet for extended periods, will help you succeed in this role.
- Comfortable greeting and interacting with a wide variety of guests
- Able to stay calm and efficient during peak service times
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a team
- Willing to learn the menu and assist with other front-of-house duties as needed
- Previous restaurant experience is an advantage but not essential

Responsibilities
Greeting guests as they enter, and putting them on a waiting list as necessary.
Providing guests with menus and answering any initial questions.
Seating guests at tables or in waiting areas.
Assigning guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive the right number of customers.
Engaging with guests to ensure they're happy with food and service.
Responding to complaints and helping to resolve them.
Answering phone calls, taking reservations and answering questions.
A knowledge of the menu.
Helping out with other positions in the restaurant as needed.
Providing great customer service.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to provide top-notch customer service in a fast-paced environment.
A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff.
Does high-quality work while unsupervised.
Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food when necessary.
Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
Able to work in a busy restaurant environment.
Restaurant experience a plus.
