Job Description
Transguard Group is looking for a hardworking and hygiene-conscious Kitchen Steward to join its team in Dubai, UAE. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting daily kitchen operations by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organisation across all kitchen areas.
You will be responsible for ensuring that kitchen equipment, utensils, and workspaces are consistently clean, sanitized, and ready for use, while strictly following food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who takes pride in maintaining a spotless kitchen environment and enjoys working as part of a coordinated back-of-house team.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude. The right candidate will be comfortable working efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting, while consistently upholding food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards.
Candidates with prior experience in kitchen stewarding, dishwashing, or similar back-of-house roles—particularly within UAE hotels, restaurants, catering companies, hospitals, or large-scale food service operations—will be well suited to this position. A good understanding of HACCP and hygiene practices, along with familiarity with commercial kitchen cleaning equipment, will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities
*Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, workstations, floors, walls, sinks, and food preparation areas.
*Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, and equipment.
*Operate dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment safely and correctly.
*Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, refrigerators, storage areas, and other assigned facilities.
*Collect, segregate, and dispose of kitchen waste according to site procedures.
*Keep garbage areas clean and ensure waste containers are emptied regularly.
*Support kitchen staff with basic cleaning and preparation tasks as required.
*Ensure adequate availability of cleaning materials, chemicals, and consumables and report shortages to the supervisor.
*Handle cleaning chemicals safely and follow manufacturer instructions and established procedures.
*Maintain proper hygiene and sanitation standards in accordance with HACCP and food safety requirements.
*Assist with receiving, moving, and storing kitchen supplies when required, following safe manual-handling practices.
*Maintain good housekeeping in all kitchen and back-of-house areas.
*Report damaged equipment, plumbing issues, leaks, pest activity, or other maintenance concerns to the supervisor.
*Follow all company HSE, food safety, hygiene, and site-specific safety procedures.
*Use appropriate PPE and maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.
*Support deep cleaning and periodic sanitation activities as scheduled.
*Work cooperatively with chefs, kitchen assistants, housekeeping teams, and other staff to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
Requirements
*Previous experience as a Kitchen Steward, Steward, Dishwasher, Kitchen Helper, or similar role is preferred.
*Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience, preferably in UAE hotels, restaurants, catering companies, hospitals, staff catering, or large-scale food service operations.
*Basic knowledge of kitchen cleaning, sanitation, waste management, and hygiene procedures.
*Familiarity with commercial dishwashing machines and kitchen cleaning equipment is an advantage.
*Knowledge of HACCP and food safety practices is preferred.
*Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive cleaning and lifting tasks.
*Good personal hygiene, grooming, punctuality, and work discipline.
*Basic English communication skills are preferred.
*Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and as part of a multicultural team.
*Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime when required.
*Previous UAE hospitality or catering experience is an advantage.
*Candidates currently in the UAE and available for immediate joining will be preferred.
