Job Description
Raffinato Bakery & Sweets is hiring a Barista to prepare and serve high-quality coffee, tea and other beverages while delivering attentive, professional customer service. The role centres on the coffee station, where you will operate beverage equipment, take and process orders, and keep standards of cleanliness and hygiene high throughout each shift.
Day to day, you will make hot and cold drinks, including espresso, cappuccino, latte and americano, following the company’s established standards for taste, presentation and portion size. You will also greet customers, help them choose from the menu, and work alongside the kitchen and service teams to keep daily operations running smoothly.
About the Role
This is a customer-facing position that combines beverage preparation with practical café support. Alongside making drinks, you will help monitor supplies, assist with inventory checks and report any shortages to your supervisor. Where required, you will also handle payments through the POS system and deal with customer feedback or complaints professionally, referring issues to the supervisor when necessary.
The role suits someone who works well in a fast-paced setting and can manage several orders at once without losing accuracy or a friendly manner. Following food safety, sanitation, and health and safety procedures, as well as company policies and service quality standards, is an important part of the job.

Responsibilities
Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, cappuccino, latte, americano, tea, and other hot and cold beverages.
Operate and maintain espresso machines, coffee grinders, blenders, and other beverage equipment.
Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and provide friendly and professional service.
Recommend beverages and assist customers with menu selections.
Maintain consistent beverage quality, presentation, taste, and portion sizes.
Grind coffee beans, adjust coffee settings, and prepare espresso according to established standards.
Handle customer payments and operate the POS system when required.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the coffee station, counters, equipment, and surrounding areas.
Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, and other supplies.
Assist with inventory checks and report shortages to the supervisor.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and health and safety procedures.
Handle customer complaints professionally and report issues to the supervisor.
Work closely with the kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
Follow company policies, standard operating procedures, and service quality standards.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous experience as a barista or in a café, restaurant, or hotel is an advantage.
Knowledge of espresso-based beverages and basic coffee preparation techniques.
Familiarity with coffee machines, grinders, and beverage preparation equipment.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Basic mathematics and POS system knowledge.
Good personal hygiene and knowledge of food safety standards.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders efficiently.
Positive attitude, teamwork, punctuality, and attention to detail.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
